I made a canoe myself and used a 45-pound U-BCOO boat motor. At first I thought the power was small, but it was beyond my imagination. It is fully capable of doing this in the Great Lakes.

Motor works great and has a lot of power. Low speed is not low enough, 1.5 mph is about the slowest you can get it to go. The frame is very flimsy and flexes when you change speed. Have been using about 3 months and no issues so far

I am using this motor with an Index Excursion 4 inflatable boat and have been very pleased with it so far. I purchased the motor mount kit from Intex and also a 35Ah sealed battery and a case for it with a battery monitoring system (shunt). We recently went out fishing with my son, wife, and myself, a total weight of about 400 pounds plus some gear and the battery.

The motor performed quite well – very quiet (especially at low speeds) and had pretty good thrust even in some windy conditions. I did have a problem at first since I had wired a fuse inline and was using a 10amp fuse – as soon as I turned the speed up to level 3 (out of 5) it blew the fuse. Fortunately, I had brought a few spares with us, so I swapped it out for a 15 amp fuse. Based on the readings from my battery monitor, it seems to use around 2-3amps on speed 1, about 5-6amps for speed 2, 7-8 for speed 3, and then it jumped way up to 15-16amps for speed 4. I don’t think I ever got it up to speed 5, since I didn’t want to blow my fuse again. The speeds don’t seem to be evenly spaced, at least not based on power draw. I have thick enough wiring that I can probably go up to 30 or 40 amps with no issues, but haven’t tried using a fuse that high to see what the draw is for speed 5.

Once you know the power draw of the motor, it is fairly simple to determine how long your battery will last. With a 35Ah battery, you can draw down to 50% charge fairly safely, which means you can use about 17-20Ah. Running the boat on speed 1 should last a good six hours or more. Speed 2 maybe three hours, etc.

Adjusting the trim is easy with a simple lever/latch on the support. I also really like that the handle telescopes out a few extra inches, as this is more comfortable to hold from within the boat when with it retracted.

I do wish there was a case or something for transporting the motor. I am using the box it came in right now, but something a little less bulky would be nice. And a simpler way to remove the prop for transporting would also be convenient. It comes with a small wrench to use for attaching it, but this isn’t the quickest way to try to remove the prop if you are out in the field.

Overall, I was quite pleased with this little motor, and it is providing just what we were looking for – a simple way to move our boat around lakes and reservoirs so my son can fish without one of use needing to row. There is currently no price listed for this motor, but I think $150-$200 is reasonable for this motor compared to some of the other more well known brand names.

What is there to say? There’s a reason that some things are legends. This motor lives up to that. I only just got it, no problems, and none expected.

I heated the blades so I could bend them inward. This method is for attracting certain types of fish. The blades are lowered just to the water surface and the blades make a splashing sound which fish take to other fish feeding on baitfish. A great way to bring fish to the boat and the bait. I wish the company made pre-formed blades for the trolling motors for this purpose. 🙂

We finally got to use it this weekend – its been waiting for months. Super impressed with it – its quiet and we trolled that lake for more than 4 hours without a hitch.

LOVE this trolling motor. Easy to handle, and we were shocked by how quiet it is.
No problem for me to put it on the boat. First time out we trolled a couple of hours! I highly recommend this trolling motor!!

Great trolling motor for pushing my 15’ aluminum V-hull about my 5 Ac pond! My Grandsons and I troll for Crappie all day for three days before returning deep cycle battery to charger! Plenty of pep and power to beat the wind and get around. The reverse speeds (3) are weaker than any of the forward speeds (5) but would get us out of any jam!

Great, solidly built motor. I utilize this motor on my Feather-Raft. It provides enough power to move me easily through the water for hours. On my first use I had an issue with vibration. After a bit of troubleshooting with the customer service rep he deemed that there was a manufacturing problem with my motor. 3 days later I had a brand new motor delivered. No hassle they just made it right. If you are looking for a product that is backed by a company with integrity this is the place to go.

I am satisfied with my purchase. The battery indicator is a huge improvement from my old, now broken, trolling motor. I have only used the trolling motor a couple of times but it works as expected and seems to be well made. I doubt I will ever need another trolling motor but I would buy this one again if needed.

This trolling motor is just as good as any motor on the market! I bought it for a Pelican bass boat that it moves with no problem at all speeds, I have even used it to troll 4 rods out the side and back of the boat for 5 and a half hours, with the battery still at 3/4 charge. I would highly recommend this motor to any one.

Question
Will a 12 volt battery with 25 amp hours power this? Scott Lagerquist asked on September 5, 2021
Answer
Yes that is more than enough to run this motor. However you need to consider to duration of the time you will be on the water. Maybe adding a solar tricle charge to your battery is a good idea just to be safe. 4毫米 answered on September 5, 2021 store managerstore manager
